Norman Rockwell: Saturday Evening Post 2020 Wall Calendar Details

Norman Rockwell sold his first illustration to The Saturday Evening Post in 1916. Over the next half century he produced more than three hundred classic covers for that magazine, a body of work that helped shape twentieth-century American identity and that elevated Rockwell (1894-1978) to the status of cultural icon. Although he didn't have a high school diploma (he dropped out to study art at the National Academy of Design), Rockwell did possess superb technical skills, keen powers of observation, and an ability to tell a story visually through a few well-chosen details. With unconcealed sentiment and wry humor, his paintings speak volumes about the human condition and the country he loved. Twelve of Rockwell's iconic artworks from The Saturday Evening Post are presented here for your enjoyment. All of Pomegranate's calendars are printed with soy-based inks on FSC certified paper, which means the paper has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and manufactured by an FSC certified printer. FSC certification promotes responsible forest management by ensuring that forestry practices are environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically viable. FSC license code FSC N001864.
